In this session, our tenuous Trio is formed. A troll interrupts a good drink, a sketchy bard offers a quest, and a purple hippie offers an egg in these trying times.

Characters

Sweeper. An Elven amnesiac. Quick-thinking and quick with his hands, this Elf awoke one day with only his wits and his name. He has since made a living through less-than scrupulous means.

Aldertwig. Wild Halfling in a big city. This nomad has somehow made her way into the City of Splendors. Don't confuse her naivety for weakness, she can punch you so hard that your brains will leak out your nose.

Imogen. A real Robin Hood. A human sorcerer that grew up on the streets of Waterdeep, Imogen uses her intrinsic magical prowess and sweet-talking to take from the rich and give to the poor.

Session Overview

After driving a troll back from whence it came, three individuals are offered a job to find a missing person. Their employer is none other than the famous Volothamp Geddarm, who claims that a friend of his named Floon Blaagmart has disappeared after a long night of carousing. They are each given a payment of 10 gold up front, and are promised an additional 100 afterwards. The group of three strangers sets out on their quest.

Volo directs the group to the Skewered Dragon, a sketchy tavern in the Dock Ward. On the way to the dock ward, they pass by some guards that have cordoned off an area that contains six dead bodies. The guards are questioning a man, and the group notices a small tattoo of a winged snake on the man's forearm.

The Group arrives at the Skewered Dragon without incident, and begin questioning the locals. They find out that Floon had left much later than Volo, and that he left with "some bratty noble kid". The group learns that this is likely Renaer Neverember, son of the former Open Lord Dagult Neverember. The two men allegedly left the bar late into the night.

Heading towards the docks, the group traces the alleged path of the two men, but the trail runs cold on a sketchy street. The group enters a conspicuous shop, and after greasing the palm of the eccentric shop owner, they learn that the two men were jumped on this street and then kidnapped. One of the attackers had a winged snake tattoo. The group also learns that there is a warehouse near the docks with that same symbol on the door.

Key Learnings

Who Did They Meet?

Durnan. Also known as Fred, Durnan is the owner and proprietor of the Yawning Portal. The warrior's grace that he carries himself with betrays the veneer of a barkeep that he wears - showing a glimpse of a previous life.

Volo. A widely traveled human wizard and sage of Faerûn. He is a self-proclaimed legendary traveler, explorer, and rogueish mage, and is most famous - or rather, infamous, for his guidebooks including the controversial and notorious Volo's Guide to All Things Magical. Also a bit of a slippery bastard.

Xoblob. Proprietor of The Old Xoblob Shop. A strange Deep Gnome that has colored himself, his store, and his entire stock a deep purple color.
